  • Betty Murray

    Co-founder | Nutritionist | Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner | Author | Speaker

Betty Murray is on a mission to radically change the health and health care in America. Betty Murray is a Nutritionist & Institute for Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner Specializing in Autoimmune, Digestive Disorders & Complex Health Issues and co-founder of Living Well Dallas, LLC. She is also the creator of a breakthrough nutritional program individualizing nutrition to the bio-chemical and genetic makeup of the individual through cutting-edge testing and individualized solutions called Metabolic Blueprint SM that is available through Living Well Dallas. Betty Murray wants you to get well. After suffering years of digestive problems and ultimately getting diagnosed with colitis accompanied with unexplained fatigue, and hormonal imbalances while immersed in a 14-year career in corporate America, she set out to find the answers to her own health problems. The answers her doctor gave her were not what she wanted to hear. The idea that the only answers were biologic drugs and steroid with risk profiles that included lymphoma and other cancers, was extreme to her. She felt that if she could find the underlying cause of her immune system attack she could turn back the war and heal her body. Her health concerns lead to a 12-year educational journey that has become the backbone of her approach to wellness using food as medicine. She quickly learned that she was not alone and that many of the symptoms people are faced with today and the resulting complications have an answer in nutrition and lifestyle. Furthermore, these can be reversed with a focused approach on fixing the physical imbalances, addressing the whole person and unwinding the patterns that developed the illness. Betty Murray knows that Food is the First Medicine. Betty Murray is one of only 600 worldwide practitioners certified by the Institute for Functional Medicine as a Functional Medicine Practitioner. At Living Well Dallas, She has developed a team specialized in metabolic, autoimmune, digestive disorders and weight loss resistance. With a foundation in the biochemistry of the body, the Living Well Dallas practitioners teach clients how to utilize nutritional interventions to improve their health. Betty Murray Focuses on Bioindividuality Betty Murray’s team focuses on bio-individuality; each person is unique, and there is no perfect way of eating that works for every person. Each individual has his or her own genetic, chemical and hormonal makeup and needs that when individualized can have profound effects on the health and well-being. Wellness is accessible through eating based on the knowledge that one person’s food may be another’s poison and that good nutrition is the foundation for lasting wellness and is the primary modifiable action one can take to prevent chronic disease Never one to overlook what is often missed in medicine, the story of her clients; Betty Murray also recognize that a person’s relationship with food is affected by other factors that supersede the food. Our relationships, self-esteem, exercise habits, spirituality, life purpose and career can all be a catalyst for wellness or disease. The more satisfying our lives are, the less we depend on food to fill a void. The team offers life-changing holistic nutrition integrated with the best technology available including emotional, mental and energetic services to address mind-body and spirit. Betty Murray Believes in Test, Don’t Guess! At Living Well we have at our disposal the most cutting-edge nutritional testing and assessments. With a “Test. Don’t guess!” approach to getting rapid, sustainable results, her team works with people all over the globe. Betty Murray received her Certified Nutritionist and masters at American Health Science University. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Mind, Body Medicine: Integrative and Functional Medicine Specialization with Saybrook University. She is one of only a hand full of nutritionists certified by the Institute for Functional Medicine as a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner (IFMCP) and one of only 12 providers in north Texas certified by IFM. She is the education director and board member for the board of the Gluten Intolerance Group of Great Dallas and a member of the National Association of Nutrition Professionals, American Association of Drugless Practitioners and the Institute of Functional Medicine. She is a sought after author, speaker and contributor to TV and radio and is a Fox News Nutritional Expert nationally for Fox News Broadcasting.

Jenny feels pretty darn lucky to work with the team of experts that she shares the space with every day. Lives are changing under this roof; what a HUGE honor that we all get to share in our client’s lives. She and Betty wanted to open Living Well to change the way healthcare is practiced in our country. They strive to provide comprehensive, client-centered care, with practitioners that take extra time to get those questions of what happened then? How are you feeling? What do you need right now? and more…truly looking at the whole picture of their lives. She feels beyond blessed with the honor and privilege to experience the “underbelly” of her client’s lives to get them to the other side. Her expertise is helping people to change what’s not working in their minds, their spaces, their lives; tweak that and start doing what does work quickly. Her motto is to help people “work with themselves and not against themselves.” She wants them to experience success right away so don’t be surprised by the homework otherwise known as inner-work that you will receive with encouragement. You will have an action plan after every session to keep you moving in the forward motion towards your destination. She has an approach to support her clients to decipher the truth and not live in “Fantasy land” too long especially when it may be emotional, spiritually or physically damaging to themselves or the people close to them. She works with clients of all faiths and no faith but believes a spiritual practice of some form is essential for staying grounded in this crazy, busy world. She is a strong, out of the box Christian because she has a BIG, HUGE out of the box, God. True healing takes place when you tap into those transparent beliefs that create each day that you live and start experiencing self-acceptance and love. Helping her clients get their A-HA moments and seeing them moving their lives forward passionately is what makes her get out of bed everyday. Jenny Bair definitely believes in acknowledging your wiring, your talents, your skills, the way that you learn in designing your life, family and work mission statements. Mission statements aren’t just plastered in business plans and plaques on the walls; they are your living plan of creating your priorities and why you would say yes or why you would say no. Your marriage mission and core values help you get back on track when life tries to pull you in other directions. They remind you how to get back to that person you married and to yourself.

  • Gabrielle, Grandell

National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach | Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach

Gabrielle Grandell is a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach and Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach and Nutritionist and Certified LEAP Therapist who is passionate about transformation. Combining her background in health coaching, food service, and medical nutrition therapy, Gabrielle assists clients in creating their ideal vision of the future and advocates a personalized approach to nutrition rooted in the belief that food is medicine. As important as what we eat is how, when and why we eat, and, together, Gabrielle and her clients can identify and address any underlying beliefs or patterns that may be limiting lasting change. Gabrielle’s services incorporate a whole systems approach that integrates the principles of functional medicine and nutrition, eating and positive psychology and mind-body medicine. She emphasizes practical application by offering private and group assessments, grocery store tours, meal planning, and cooking and educational workshops so that clients walk away with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to sustain a healthful lifestyle. Gabrielle’s clients range from those with specific medical conditions; to those who want to understand how they can nourish their bodies and spirits through clean food and conscious activity. Gabrielle Grandell has an emphasis on nutritional therapies that incorporate: * Functional and medicinal foods and nutrient supplementation * Positive and eating psychology * Advanced diagnostic testing * Evidence-based coaching and Mind-Body Medicine * Detoxification and elimination programs for managing various health challenges Gabrielle achieved her Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics and Institutional Administration at Texas Woman’s University in 2007 and launched a successful Medical Weight Loss program at a nationwide medical spa as a Lifestyle Educator. A desire to experience additional medical application led her to begin practicing clinical nutrition and patient care for several years at Baylor University Medical Center of Dallas. However, she quickly became disillusioned by the conventional dietetics model and its ignorance of the corrupting influence of Agribusiness, Big Food and Big Pharma on medical and nutritional education. She came to understand how these industries were contributing to the underlying poor health and the huge problem of “overconsumption malnutrition” in this country. She began practicing Functional Nutrition in 2012 and was a graduate of the inaugural class of the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy in collaboration with the Institute for Functional Medicine, and is now honored to be serving as adjunct faculty as a Senior Course Facilitator and Practicum Supervisor. She is recognized as one of the first National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coaches through the International Consortium of Health and Wellness Coaching and the National Board of Medical Examiners. Gabrielle Grandell’s feature article at the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy The most surprising things Gabrielle Grandell learned as part of FMCA’s inaugural class had nothing to do with the power of food as medicine. They weren’t new scientific evidence supporting the strength of mind-body medicine or new theories about helping clients maintain digestive health. The most remarkable things Grandell learned were about herself. “I really learned a lot about who I am and how to help bring out the truth in me, specifically how to use my strengths to help others shine while helping myself grow,” she says. The curriculum’s personal growth work caused Grandell to dive more deeply into her own personality and behaviors than she thought would be required from a year-long program. “It was surprising to me how much I had to look inside, but that’s so key,” says Grandell, who has worked in the food arena for nearly 20 years and in Functional Nutrition for the past 4 years. The work at the beginning of the year helped her explore her own food patterns and interpersonal communication style. She found the VIA character strengths survey particularly revealing. The test revealed bravery as her top strength. She says she wouldn’t have predicted that to be her Number One strength, but when she went back through her life and examined her behavior and choices in different scenarios, she saw evidence of personal fortitude again and again. “It really empowered me,” she says. She found learning how to build her personal strengths, as well as how to incorporate her client’s strengths into her work with clients fascinating. Grandell always had an interest in food and knew she wanted to find work that involved helping people. She fell in love with her first nutrition class in college. Working her way through school in a variety of food service jobs, she was able to accumulate a growing knowledge of food along with tuition money.

  • Suzan Kearney

    MED | MRET

Suzan learned of the powers of energy work through her own path of healing using several energy clearing modalities: EFT, Rapid Eye Technology and Reiki. She learned that the emotional experiences in our lives contribute to our ill health and dis-ease through creating imbalances in several of the body’s energy systems. Suzan spent 10 years as a classroom teacher. Through that medium, she experienced the power of education. In 2003, Suzan shifted her focus from public school education of children to educating women and their families to help them live a more connected and vibrant life. Suzan now uses Rapid Eye Technology and Reiki together to rebalance the subtle energy systems to uncover the sacred within each person. Once layers of trauma, stress and dis-ease are peeled away, an individual can see their true, originally perfect selves more clearly. Once that vision is restored, once you begin to see and remember who you really are, you will begin to make choices for your life based on this truth, not the experiences and perceptions that have covered YOU up for so long. Suzan’s goal is to bring this gentle and empowering form of healing to women and their families through the collaborative efforts of Living Well Dallas. For more information, Suzan invites you to contact her for a consultation. Together, you will determine your personal plan for growth. To read more about our energy psychology services click here.
